High Gear Media, (www.highgearmedia.com), a next generation media company that publishes more automotive content than anyone in the world through websites targeting key buyer and vehicle segments, and Tesla Motors (www.teslamotors.com) are launching a writing contest to win a tour and test drive of the 2010 Tesla Roadster Sport in California's Silicon Valley.
The contest is open to anyone who uses High Gear Media's 75 automotive websites. Users can sign in and submit their own writing to be published on the High Gear Media network and thereby enter for a chance to win. High Gear editors will pick the winner based on the quality of content submitted. The winner's Tesla tour experience will include:
Airfare to and accommodations in the San Francisco Bay Area the week of January 18, 2010.
An exclusive tour of Tesla's powertrain installation facility in Menlo Park, Calif., and a one-on-one interview with Tesla Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen.
An afternoon to test-drive the 2010 Tesla Roadster Sport, the only highway-capable electric vehicle in production and for sale today.
The winner will also be hired by High Gear Media to write an article about the experience to be published on the company's web sites.
To enter, contestants must submit their own articles using High Gear Media's open content platform at http://www.highgearmedia.com/iwanttowrite. High Gear Media editors review all submissions for publication and will choose the best overall writing submitted as the winner. The contest remains open for the rest of 2009 or 11:59 PST Dec. 31, 2009. Additional rules can be found on High Gear Media's website.
"We believe media is changing rapidly, and users want to share their insights on the same platforms the pros use," said Matt Heist, CEO of High Gear Media. "We currently have nearly 200 contributors who have been able to publish automotive content with us - so we publish more original automotive content on our network now than anyone else. We're pleased to be able to offer unique insider access to Tesla for a talented, knowledgeable person who is just waiting to be discovered."
"The Tesla Roadster is greener than a Prius and faster than a Porsche -- the only car that doesn't require drivers to sacrifice between performance and efficiency," said Tesla Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen. "Tesla pushes the boundaries of automotive innovation, just like High Gear Media and its users are pushing the boundaries in publishing and media."
High Gear Media publishes automotive content through websites targeting key buyer and vehicle segments with a rapidly expanding audience that now reaches well over 2 million visitors monthly.
